CABAS® Accredited Schools

CABAS® accredited schools (or sites, such as learning centers) provide a learner-driven systems approach to teaching and learning based on verbal and applied behavior analysis.

  • All components and roles involved in teaching, parenting, and school supervision are measured.
  • Research-based assessments, screenings, protocols, and curricula are aligned with verbal behavior developmental cusps for neurotypical students and students with disabilities.
  • The ongoing completion of CABAS® ranks supports increased levels of expertise and mentored supervision for teachers, teacher assistants and supervising mentors.
  • The completion of parent education modules provides a curriculum for parents with opportunities to practice in situ.
  • Having high-ranked individuals serving in supervisory as well as administrative positions ensures enough expertise for mentorship of others in the system and ensures CABAS® standards will be met and promotes long-term fidelity to the model.
  • A minimum of one day of consultation per month of consultation is required for all CABAS® Accredited Schools or sites.

We encourage people to use all the scientific procedures we have found by research in schooling and in applications of behavior analysis (e.g., different kinds of learn units, teacher performance assessments, strategic analyses of student learning, curricula based on verbal development). However, to be recognized by the CABAS® Professional and Organizational Standards Committee as a CABAS® accredited school, program, or site means that the organization meets certain standards (insert link to CABAS® Site Accreditation Standards).
